So a mid-range PU can actually be cheaper per year than real leather, but the cheap stuff often costs more in the long run. For jackets that need to last beyond a season, I'd invest in a bonded leather with PU finish (real leather core, PU topcoat). For short-term promotional clothing, good-quality PU (0.15mm) works fine. My rule of thumb: if the project's lifecycle is under 2 years, PU is usually okay.
